5-star PG Trevon Duval drops top 5 as two play against each other

The nation’s top point guard prospect, Trevon Duval, named his official Top-5 on Tuesday night precisely as two of the schools on that list were preparing to face off against each other at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Duval released his winnowed list on Twitter, cutting his options down to Duke, Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and Seton Hall. His tweet came across at 9:18, fewer than 15 minutes before Duke and Kansas faced off against each other as part of the State Farm Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden.

The 6-foot-3 IMG Academy guard hails from Delaware, which makes Seton Hall the closest thing to a hometown choice from his final group of five. One would still imagine the Pirates represent a longshot to land to superstar, particularly with the likes of Duke and Kansas in the hunt.

Perhaps there was even more on the line in Monday night’s early season tussle after all?
